5.18민주화운동 38주년과 5월정신의 헌법 전문 수록을 앞두고 있는 가운데 광주MBC(대표이사 사장 송일준)가 5.18의 진실을 알리고자 다시 한 번 앞장선다. 이명박, 박근혜 정권 동안 전국에는 방송하지 못했던 5.18 특집다큐멘터리를 방송이 아닌 전문 공연장에서 상영하는 일종의 쇼케이스를 열기로 한 것이다.
